Sounders FC and RAVE Foundation Celebrate Flagship Field at Yesler Terrace Park this Friday

SEATTLE, WASH. - This Friday, September 7 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. PT, the Seattle community is invited to join Sounders FC and RAVE Foundation in a community celebration of RAVE Foundation's flagship field at Yesler Terrace Park.

The event is $25 to attend, and all proceeds benefit RAVE Foundation. Registration is available at the door or online at Sounders.Gesture.com.

Officially opened on August 25, Yesler Terrace Park was developed in collaboration with the diverse Yesler neighborhood in order to provide the community with a space that would be utilized and loved. Sounders FC and RAVE Foundation are hosting Friday's celebration to bring awareness to the RAVE Community Fields project, of which Yesler Terrace Park's field serves as the flagship. RAVE Foundation is dedicated to bringing additional free-to-play soccer fields to underserved communities throughout the Puget Sound region.

Friday's event features speakers Adrian Hanauer, Sounders FC Owner and RAVE Foundation founding trustee; Andrew Lofton, Executive Director of Seattle Housing Authority; Maya Mendoza-Exstrom, RAVE's founding Executive Director and current RAVE Foundation Trustee; and representatives from the Yesler community.

Sounders FC players, including goalkeeper Stefan Frei, will be in attendance and all are invited to come out to learn more about RAVE Foundation while enjoying numerous available family-friendly activities. Ping pong, foosball, soccer tennis and soccer are all offered, as well as a green-screen photobooth where attendees can place themselves in a photo on the Xbox Pitch at CenturyLink Field or on the Sounders FC bench. A silent auction will also be available and benefits RAVE Foundation, including items such as an autographed Raúl Ruidíaz jersey, pitch-side seats to an upcoming match, one-of-a-kind art by MLS Watercolorist and more.

There is also an interactive map featuring potential locations for additional RAVE Community Fields, and those in attendance at the event will have the opportunity to share their thoughts and suggestions. The RAVE Foundation Sports Media Institute will also a have a presence, as SMI students host a social media station to teach eventgoers more about social media platforms and posting about RAVE.
