PHILADELPHIA, PA - The American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, beat the Philadelphia Phantoms 6-2 on the road Sunday to go 4-0-1 in a stretch of five straight road games. The six goals also tied the Sound Tigers' season-high mark for offense, which was set in a 6-2 win over the Utah Grizzlies on Halloween in the second game of the five in a row away from home.

The Sound Tigers snapped a three-game, 0-for-19, power-play drought to open the scoring 7:02 into the game as Jeff Hamilton notched his team-leading eighth goal of the season off assists from Mattias Weinhandl and Eric Manlow. The point was the first of the season for Weinhandl who returned from off-season ankle surgery in last night's 1-1 tie in Providence.

Philadelphia tied the game at 1-1 on Patrick Sharp's fifth goal of the season 2:41 into the second period off assists from Boyd Kane and Kirby Law.

The Sound Tigers regained the lead at 2-1 and increased it to 3-1 on Kevin Colley's first goal of the season, and his first with the team, 7:59 into the middle frame off assists from Blaine Down and Jody Robinson and Jeff Hamilton's second goal of the game, his ninth of the season, at the 11:15 mark off an assist from Robinson.

Philadelphia pulled back to within 3-2 on a power-play goal by Dennis Seidenberg, his third goal of the season, off assists from Law and Sharp with 2:33 left in the second period, but the Sound Tigers regained the two-goal advantage on a great play by Martin Kariya who blocked a shot, fed Rob Collins, followed him up ice then one-timed a return feed for a shorthanded goal with :43.2 left in the middle frame. It was Kariya's third goal of the season, the Sound Tigers' second while shorthanded of the campaign, with Collins notching the only assist.

Collins made it 5-2 with his third goal of the season 3:32 into the third period off an assist from Kariya and finished the scoring with his second goal of the period and the game, his fourth marker of the year, with 2:42 left to play on a major power play to make it 6-2. Brandon Smith and Alan Letang assisted on the last goal.

The Sound Tigers were 2 for 10 on the power play, 6 for 7 on the penalty kill and outshot Philadelphia 31-21. Hamilton was the first star of the game, Kariya the second, and Kraft the third.
