Providence Bruins News Release
The Providence Bruins and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins met for the first time since the 2000-01 season on Sunday afternoon in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, with an undermanned Bruins team taking a 1-0 decision. The win improved the Bruins' record to 6-4-3-0 (15 points), putting them in third place in the Atlantic Division standings.
Bruin goaltender Tim Thomas stopped all 33 shots he faced on the night for his second shutout of the season. His record is now 3-2-2 on the season.
Bruin right wing Pat Leahy scored his team-leading seventh goal of the season on a first period power play, with Matt Herr and Ivan Huml assisting.
