Sound Tigers' Tickets For Kids program benefits children and fans

August 22, 2006 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Bridgeport Islanders News Release

The Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the New York Islanders, are offering their 20-game and full season ticket holders an opportunity to trade in game day tickets which will go to area children who otherwise might not have an opportunity to see a game. The fans, in turn, will be recognized with a letter of appreciation in conjunction with a tax write-off.

Participation in the Sound Tigers' new Tickets For Kids program is a win-win situation for fans and the community. Instead of unused tickets going to waste, underprivileged children will have a rare opportunity to watch a game with their friends. Sound Tiger fans, meanwhile, will not only know that their tickets are being put to good use, but they will also receive reimbursement via the tax write-off.

Half and full season ticket holders should contact the Sound Tigers at least 24 hours before the games they will not attend. Fans may call the Sound Tigers at 334-GOAL, visit soundtigers.com or email Community Relations Director/ Group Sales Manager Shane Beardsley at sbeardsley@soundtigers.com for more information.

The following organizations will benefit from the Tickets For Kids program:

Cardinal Sheehan Center, Bridgeport
Big Brother/Big Sisters of Greater Bridgeport, Bridgeport
Swim Across the Sound (Cancer Research), Bridgeport
Department of Children and Families of Bridgeport Adoption Services, Bridgeport
Burroughs Community Center, Bridgeport
Norwalk YMCA, Norwalk
Danbury Hospital Children's Foundation, Danbury
Best Buddies of CT (Persons with Intellectual Disabilities), New Haven
Sterling House Community Center, Stratford
