Sound Tigers' Roster Reshaped on Thursday

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - The New York Islanders announced today the team has reduced its preseason roster by 11 players. Nine players have been loaned to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, while two others have been released from their professional tryout contracts and will return to Bridgeport.
In addition, the Islanders have placed defenseman Scott Mayfield on waivers, while the Sound Tigers have released seven players from training camp tryouts and loaned forward Lukas Lofquist to the ECHL's Missouri Mavericks.
The following nine players have been loaned to the Sound Tigers.

G - Chris Gibson
D - Jesse Graham
F - Josh Ho-Sang
D - Ross Johnston
D - Devon Toews
G - Stephon Williams
The Islanders also released the following two players from professional tryouts. Both will join the Sound Tigers' training camp, which continues with a 10 a.m. practice on Friday.

All remaining training camp practices will be held at Wonderland of Ice in Bridgeport and will be open to the public free of charge, with media availability following each session. The Sound Tigers preseason schedule also features one final exhibition game on Saturday, Oct. 8 at Wonderland of Ice against the Providence Bruins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door will all proceeds being donated to local youth hockey.
Opening Night: The Sound Tigers celebrate the start of a new season on Saturday, October 15 by giving away free magnet schedules to the first 2,000 fans presented by the CT Department of Transportation. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the puck drops at 7 p.m. against the Providence Bruins at Webster Bank Arena. Make it a family night and enjoy the Kid Zone on the Plaza presented by Big Y. In addition, receive $5.00 off your game ticket at the box office when showing your AAA Membership Card before October 14 at 5 p.m.
