
Sound Tigers Hold Youth Hockey Equipment Showcase

The Bridgeport Sound Tigers and New York Islanders will hold a Youth Hockey Equipment Showcase on Thursday, August 17 from 5-9 p.m. at The Rinks at Shelton. Come and test the latest equipment on the ice the Sound Tigers practice on, enjoy free barbecued food, fun and games, raffles, an open skate with Sound Tigers' mascot Storm from 5-6 p.m. and test your shooting skills with the Sound Tigers Slap Shot Machine.
Hockey players will have a chance to gear up for the upcoming campaign at a preseason Islanders Pro-Shop equipment sale, featuring 50-90 percent off top of the line skates, sticks and gloves for all ages. Vendors from Bauer/Nike, Mission/ITech, CCM/Reebok and Easton will be on hand.
There will also be an opportunity to meet Islander legend Bobby Nystrom who won four consecutive Stanley Cups with the Isles.
