The Gary South Shore Railcats batted around 3 times, sending a total of 51 batters to the plate, scoring 15 runs on 19 hits off a collection of 4 Edmonton pitchers in a 15-5 root of the Cracker-Cats Friday night at Telus Field.
9 batters came to the plate and 5 runs scored off Edmonton starter Aron Gangi 0-1, the left hander lasted 4 innings surrendering 8 earned runs. Former Pittsburg Pirate Jermain Allensworth led the way at the plate going 4 for 5 with a run scored.
Gary right hander Jason Shelly pitched 5 innings allowing 4 runs to record the victory. Shelly now leads the Northern Leaugue in victories with 9.
The Railcats improve to 9 and 11, the âCats fall to 10-9, 1 ½ games behind Fargo who defeated Winnipeg 5-1 on Friday night.
Saturday nights mound match up will feature Chris Kemlo 4-0 for Edmonton; the Railcats will counter with Josh Habel 4-6.
