Hershey Bears News Release
Art Fausnacht, longtime American Hockey League linesman and Hershey off-ice official at Hersheypark Arena, died Thursday of heart failure at the age of 78.
Born on January 22, 1928, Fausnacht skated as a linesman for the AHL for 23 years from 1953 to 1976, and continued his dedication and devotion to the game of hockey by serving as an off-ice official. He was a goal judge at HERSHEYPARK Arena beginning in 1976 and served in that capacity until 1992 when he became Hershey's press room attendant. He worked game nights overseeing the press area until 1997. A terrific hockey player in his youth and a lifelong fan of the game, Fausnacht will be missed by the HERSHEY hockey community.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Fausnacht can be made to the Hershey Area Minor Hockey Association, or to the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania.
