
Sound Tigers Go for Fourth Straight Home Win Tonight

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers (12-6-0-0) go for their fourth straight home win tonight in a 7 p.m. matchup against the Albany Devils (12-6-0-0) at Webster Bank Arena. In their last outing on Saturday, the Sound Tigers went neck-and-neck with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins for the better part of 60 minutes, but suffered a 1-0 loss in Pennsylvania. Jean-Sebastien Dea scored the game's only goal (on the power play) early in the third period, snapping Bridgeport's season-best four-game win streak. Bridgeport has not lost back-to-back games yet this season. The Sound Tigers are 3-0-0-0 against North Division opponents in 2016-17.
SEASON SERIES
Tonight's game marks the second of six meetings between the Sound Tigers and Devils this season, and the second of three matchups at Webster Bank Arena. Bridgeport leads the season series 1-0-0-0 after a come-from-behind victory at home on Nov. 2nd. The Devils scored twice in the first 2:51 that afternoon, but Bridgeport stormed back with four unanswered goals to capture a 4-2 win in front of 7,755 fans.
VIEW FROM ALBANY
The Devils have won three in a row and enter tonight's contest ranked first in the North Division with 24 points. In its last outing on Saturday, Albany stormed out of the gate, scoring four straight goals en route to a 4-2 victory over the Rochester Americans at home. Rookie John Quenneville recorded his sixth goal and 14th point that night (both tied for the team lead), while Ken Appleby made 19 saves for his third straight win between the pipes. Quenneville is now tied for fifth among AHL rookies in points and Appleby is 3-0-0-0 with a 1.62 goals-against-average this season, while fellow netminder Scott Wedgewood is eighth among league goalies with a 2.18 goals-against-average.
PULOCK RETURNS TO BRIDGEPORT
The New York Islanders announced today defenseman Ryan Pulock has been activated off the team's injured reserve (IR) list and been loaned to Bridgeport. The 22-year-old played two games with the Sound Tigers earlier this season and one game with the Islanders. He suffered a lower-body injury on Oct. 21st in New York's 3-2 win against the Arizona Coyotes at Barclays Center. A first-round draft pick by the Islanders in 2013, Pulock made his NHL debut with New York last season and recorded four points (two goals, two assists) in 15 games.
OVERTIME HEROICS
The Sound Tigers remained perfect beyond regulation last weekend with a 3-2 overtime win against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Friday. Bridgeport continues to lead the league with a perfect winning percentage (100-percent; 5-for-5) through at least five overtime games. Five of the Sound Tigers' last 10 contests have ended in overtime or a shootout, dating back to Nov. 4th.
STILL KICKING
Veteran forwards Bracken Kearns and Steve Bernier are both in their 12th professional seasons, but neither is showing signs of slowing down. The duo currently ranks first and second on the Sound Tigers in scoring, and Kearns is tied for 11th in league overall with 16 points (six goals, 10 assists). Bernier has six points (four goals, two assists) in his last five games and 12 points (five goals, seven assists) in 13 contests overall this season.
McADAM TURNING HEADS
First-year goaltender Eamon McAdam has been turning heads since he was reassigned from Missouri (ECHL) on Nov. 16th. The Penn State product has won each of his first four starts in the AHL this year, posting a 1.96 goals-against-average, .934 save percentage and a career-best 33 saves on Friday. He collected his first professional win on Nov. 19th against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, a team located in Allentown, PA, just 22 miles from McAdam's hometown of Perkasie, PA.
QUICK HITS
Bridgeport is 8-3-0-0 this month including a 4-1-0-0 record at Webster Bank Arena... The Sound Tigers are second in the AHL with five shorthanded goals scored, one behind the Texas Stars... Stephon Williams is one game shy of his 50th professional appearance... Michael Dal Colle is tied for third among league rookies with seven goals... Kyle Burroughs is third in the AHL overall with 55 penalty minutes.
