San Antonio Rampage News Release

RAMPAGE PLAYERS TO TEAM UP WITH HIGHLAND HILLS ELEMENTARY STUDENTS TUESDAY

Players and Students from Silver & Black Give Back's Team Up Challenge Will Take Cooking Class

WHAT: Rampage forwards Troy Bourke and Sam Henley will join students from Highland Hills Elementary School to participate in a cooking class led by Young Chefs Academy. The activity is a reward for the students, who have focused on health and wellness in their Silver & Black Give Back (SBGB) Team Up Challenge project.

The Silver & Black Give Back Team Up Challenge recognizes and rewards students who improve the San Antonio community through activities that are tied to classroom curriculum. These innovative projects are developed by students to address needs in their own neighborhoods or communities.

Through the Team Up Challenge and in partnership with their student ambassadors from Mayor's Fitness Council, students from Highland Hills Elementary will host monthly "First Friday Family Fitness Nights." At these events, families will be invited to work out or play in a safe environment. There will be exercise classes and activities, cooking demonstrations, and fresh food provided from a farmer's market vendor. It's a great way to incorporate both healthy living and eating.

ABOUT TEAM UP CHALLENGE

The Team Up Challenge is a community involvement program that teaches kids civic responsibility through hands-on learning and service within their communities. Through these hands-on programs, youth are empowered to change the world, starting right here in San Antonio. Kids identify a need and create a project to impact one of five areas: Arts & Culture, Education, Environment, Health & Wellness, or Uniformed Services. As a premier initiative of Silver & Black Give Back, Spurs, Stars, Rampage and San Antonio FC players have worked alongside the students to help bring their vision to life.
