
Sound Tigers Announce Training Camp Roster

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the New York Islanders, announced today their training camp roster and schedule prior to the team's 18th season in the AHL. All practices will be held at Webster Bank Arena, located at 600 Main Street in Bridgeport, beginning Monday, Sept. 24.
Twenty-five players comprised of 14 forwards, nine defensemen and two goaltenders make up the initial training camp roster. The full list of players (alphabetical by position) includes:
Forwards (14): Chris Bourque, Ryan Bourque, Scott Eansor, Matt Gaudreau, Ryan Hitchcock, Josh Holmstrom, Woody Hudson, Connor Jones, Otto Koivula, Ivan Kosorenkov, Jeff Kubiak, Nick Sorkin, Yanick Turcotte, Dylan Willick
Defensemen (9): Kyle Burroughs, Chris Casto, Mike Cornell, Ryan MacKinnon, Tyler Mueller, Tommy Panico, David Quenneville, Yannick Rathgeb, Mitch Vande Sompel
Goalies (2): Evan Buitenhuis, Mitch Gillam
The Sound Tigers' 2018 preseason schedule features two exhibition games against the Hartford Wolf Pack. Both games will take place at 1 p.m. at the Koeppel Community Sports Center on the campus of Trinity College in Hartford. The Sound Tigers will be designated as the home team for the first of the two meetings, which will be held Friday, September 28. The exhibition slate concludes the following day, Saturday, September 29.
Both contests are open to the public with a suggested $5 donation to the Ryan Gordon/Hartford Wolf Pack Community Scholars Fund in lieu of an admission charge. The fund memorializes young fan Ryan Gordon, who passed away in 2006 and asked that a portion of the monies set aside for his college education be donated to the Hartford Wolf Pack Community Foundation.
Packed Promotional Lineup: The Sound Tigers will boast one of their most extensive and wide-ranging promotional schedules ever for the 2018-19 season. The fan-friendly calendar includes the return of popular themes like Hockey and Hops (Nov. 23 and Mar. 17), Military Appreciation (Jan. 12), Star Wars Night (Jan. 19) and Princess Night (Mar. 30). Regional hockey fans will be elated for the addition of Hockey Weekend in Connecticut (Feb. 23-24), while other new headliners include Holiday Gift Weekend (Dec. 15-16) and a revamped Teddy Bear Toss (Nov. 23).
