Mankato MoonDogs News Release
The Mankato MoonDogs, a member of the Northwoods League is excited to welcome Josh Horton to the organization. He will be the voice of the MoonDogs this season on the radio and for online broadcasts. Horton grew up in Pittston, Pennsylvania and is currently a senior at Misericordia University, where he will graduate this spring with a bachelor's degree in Communications.
He began working as a sports journalist with the Pittston Sunday Dispatch, a small weekly in Pittston, Pennsylvania, then moved on to work for the Times Leader as a sports correspondent. He eventually went to work for The Citizens Voice in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania and is currently writing for the Pinstripes Plus and working in the sports information department at Misericordia University. In the past, Horton has freelanced for numerous other media outlets including YES Network and MLB.com.
His career highlights include covering Derek Jeter's rehab appearance with Triple-A Yankees in 2013 for YES Network as well as Alex Rodriguez's rehab appearance in 2011 for MLB.com. He has received several awards for his work in the media such as the Young Journalist of the Year award at the 2010 Tom Bigler Journalism Conference.
When he was with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees as assistant director of Media Relations, Horton was responsible for conducting pre and post-game interviews with players, as well as writing post-game stories for the team's website.

The MoonDogs home opener is scheduled for Wednesday, May 28 at 7:05 p.m. against the Alexandria Blue Anchors at Franklin Rogers Park. Season tickets are now on sale at the MoonDogs office located at 1221 Caledonia Street.
