Bullfrogs Sign Veterans Long, Rosebeck for 2014 Season

Green Bay, Wis. - The Green Bay Bullfrogs have announced the signings of right-handed redshirt-Sophomore Ethan Rosebeck of Pima Community College and right-handed first baseman Dean Long from Emporia State.

Rosebeck, a 6'0", 190-pound right-hander from Tucson, Arizona joins the Bullfrogs after two seasons with the Aztecs. He has been busy this past season, appearing in eighteen games. Rosebeck has a 6-3 record with a 1.87 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and two saves.

Rosebeck was particularly effective at the end of the season in a starting pitching role. He was named the ACCAC Division I Pitcher of the week for three consecutive weeks in the month of March. Rosebeck built on his successful freshman campaign at Pima in 2013, when he pitched ten innings with a 1.80 ERA, striking out eight and walking just three.

Long, a 6'3 205-pound slugger at the first baseman from Lebanon, Missouri, will add offensive production to the Bullfrogs lineup. In high school, Long led his team to a district title, leading Lebanon High School's high-scoring offense with 55 RBI's.

Long spent his first year of college eligibility at Kansas City Community College. In 56 games played, Long batted .355 with 2 HR, 39 RBI, 44 runs, 27 stolen bases, 18 doubles, while drawing 18 walks. In total, Long's impressive slash line was .355/.443/.530.

Long spent his second year of eligibility with the Emporia State Hornets. Long has been more impressive with the Hornets, currently batting .304 with 14 HR, 60 RBI, 51 runs, 19 stolen bases, 12 doubles, while drawing 43 walks in 57 games. His slash line with the Hornets is .304/.446/.618.
