Soul DB Eddie Moten named Defensive Player of the Week

PHILADELPHIA -The Arena Football League announced today that Philadelphia Soul DB Eddie Moten was named as the ADT Defensive Player of the Week following his performance against the New York Dragons.

Moten (5'10", 185, Texas A&M Kingsville) picked off his league-leading fourth interception of the season against New York this past week and took it 50 yards for his second interception return for a touchdown this year. The interception extended his streak of consecutive games with a pick to seven putting him two shy of the record. In those seven games, he has tallied 10 interceptions with three being taken back for scores. On the season, Moten has a team-high 25.5 tackles and a league-high 15 pass breakups to go along with his four interceptions.

This is the second time this season Moten has received the ADT Defensive Player of the Week award. The first time came after his performance in Week 2 against the Nashville Kats.

Along with Moten, other players receiving league recognition for their play in Week 5 were Chicago Rush WR Bobby Sippio, who was named Offensive Player of the Week and Colorado Crush FB/LB Robert Thomas, who was named Ironman of the Week.
