November 11, 2021 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Brampton Steelheads News Release

The Mississauga Steelheads head on a two-game road trip this weekend. First, the blue and white travel to the nation's capital for the first time this season as they face off with the Ottawa 67's on Friday. The following night, the Steelheads travel to the Leon's Centre for the third time this season to face the Kingston Frontenacs.

Steelheads Keep on Rolling

The Steelheads are on their most successful run of the season thus far. In the last five games, the Steelheads picked up 9 out of a possible 10 points, including four consecutive victories.

With this streak, the Steelheads (6-4-1-0) climbed from last place in the Central Division (on November 5) to third place. The team sits just three points out of first place in the division, with North Bay currently holding that position. North Bay (8-6-0) has 16 points in 14 games, while Mississauga has 13 points in 3 fewer games.

Basran named OHL Goaltender of the Week

Earlier this week, Steelheads netminder Roman Basran was named OHL Goaltender of the Week. The 20-year-old Vancouver, B.C. native gave the Steelheads stability in the crease, going 3-0 during the week, while posting a remarkable 0.97 goals-against-average and .952 save percentage.

A Capital Affair

The last time Steelheads and the 67's faced off was on October 22, as the Trout secured a dominate 5-2 win in their home opener. Team scoring leader James Hardie tallied his first career OHL hat-trick, rookie forward Ty Anselmini notched his first career OHL goal, and Roman Basran (20 saves) recorded his first OHL victory.

Rolling Back To Kingston

The Steelheads have the Kingston Frontenacs number this season. The blue and white came out victorious in both contests at the Leon's Centre, including a thrilling 3-2 overtime win on November 3. Steelheads' captain Ethan Del Mastro nailed the game-winner in the last second of the extra session.

Catch the Steelheads game Saturday at 3:00 PM on CBC as they look to continue their winning ways against the Frontenacs!
