(Bridgewater, N.J.) - The Long Island Ducks were defeated by the Somerset Patriots 6-1 on Sunday afternoon in the finale of a four-game series at TD Bank Ballpark.

Somerset collected three two-out runs in the first inning to take a 3-0 lead against Ducks starter Jack Snodgrass. Matt Fields' two-run home run to center field and Scott Kelly's RBI single to center did the damage. The Ducks got a run back in the second on Dan Lyons' solo homer to left off of Patriots starter Scott McGregor.

However, a sacrifice fly to left by Eric Farris in the bottom of the frame restored the lead to three at 4-1. The Patriots then added insurance runs in the fifth and eighth on a run-scoring fielder's choice and a RBI single off the bat of Kelly.

McGregor (1-0) earned the win, tossing five innings of one-run ball, allowing four hits while striking out five. Snodgrass (0-1) took the loss, giving up four runs on seven hits and a walk with five strikeouts in four innings.

The Ducks continue their road trip on Monday evening when they visit the New Britain Bees for the very first time. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. from New Britain Stadium. Fans can follow all of the action live on the Ducks' official YouTube channel. Streaming audio will be available online. Right-hander Mark Blackmar gets the start for the Ducks against Bees righty Kyle Simon.
