Somerset Patriots Welcome Four Pitchers

Bridgewater, NJ- The Five-Time Atlantic League Champion Somerset Patriots have announced the signings of right-handed pitchers Derell McCall, Mike MacDonald, Justin Cassel, and left-handed pitcher Matt Crim.

McCall rejoins the Patriots following a season where he finished with a 4.42 ERA and 42 strikeouts in 99.2 innings pitched in 18 games.

McCall pitched for the York Revolution for the majority of the 2010 season, finishing with a 7-3 record with 54 strikeouts in 80.2 innings pitched

McCall has 12 seasons of professional baseball experience, including two seasons at both the Single-A and Double-A levels with the Oakland Athletics and Miami Marlins organizations.

MacDonald has four seasons of Triple-A experience with the Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim organizations, as well as a season of Double-A experience for the San Francisco Giants.

He appeared in 28 games at the Triple-A level in Las Vegas last season and has a minor league career ERA of 4.52 and 615 strikeouts in 1,040.2 innings pitched in 220 games.

Cassel has spent his entire career before joining the Patriots with the Chicago White Sox organization, reaching the Triple-A level in three seasons.

He has a minor league career 25-24 record, a 3.49 ERA, and 287 strikeouts in 449 innings pitched in 100 games.

Crim has experience in the Atlanta Braves organization, reaching the Double-A level last season.

He has a minor league career 4.75 ERA and 191 strikeouts in 301 innings pitched in 74 games.
