Somerset Patriots News Release

Bridgewater, NJ - The Three-Time Atlantic League Champion Somerset Patriots have announced that NASCAR Night will take place at Commerce Bank Ballpark on Thursday, June 8th for the 7:05 pm game against the Newark Bears.

Brian Vickers, the #25 GMAC NASCAR driver, will be at the ballpark to meet fans, sign autographs, and throw out a ceremonial first pitch before the game.

Since December 2002, Vickers' racing career has been moving almost as fast as the speeds at which he drives on the racetrack.

Vickers joined the storied Hendrick Motorsports organization for the 2003 NASCAR Busch Series campaign and quickly took advantage of the opportunity, winning three races and the driver's title in just his first full season behind the wheel. The Thomasville, N.C., native captured the first Busch Series crown in Hendrick Motorsports history, while becoming NASCAR's youngest-ever champion at age 20.

NASCAR Night will include a chance for fans to see Vickers' #25 GMAC car and Mark Martin's #6 AAA car. AAA's NASCAR simulator car will also be on site for fans to enjoy.

Pocono Raceway's replica pace car will also be on display with modified and sprint cars from New Egypt and Wall Speedways.

The Patriots will be giving away NASCAR and racing prizes, including Terrace Tickets with four Pit/ Paddock Passes for the Pocono 500 on June 11th. The team will also give out 2,500 tickets for the qualifying days at Pocono Raceway for either June 10th or July 22nd.

The first 1,500 fans in attendance will receive a limited edition Sparky Lyle figurine courtesy of ImClone Systems.

Great seats for NASCAR Night are available by stopping by the Patriots Ticket Office located at Commerce Bank Ballpark, by calling (908) 252-0700, or on-line at www.somersetpatriots.com.
