HARLINGEN, Texas- RGV starter Ray Hanson pitched eight shutout innings but it wasn't enough as the RGV WhiteWings (0-2) fell 3-0 to the San Angelo Colts (2-0) Friday night at Harlingen Field.

Colts first basemen Chris Caves broke a 0-0 deadlock tie in the top of the ninth inning. With two outs Caves doubled to left center scoring Mobbs and Nichols. The Colts held on from there as Alfredo Caballero got his second save (2) of the year.

Alex Bates pitched a no hitter until Danny Pembroke broke up the no hit bid with a double in the sixth inning, Bates was charged with a No Decision, Corey Frerichs was the winning pitcher (1-0) throwing two innings only allowing one hit.

Ray Hanson was charged with a loss (0-1) Hanson went eight full innings allowing just five hits and no runs, the WhiteWings offense struggled only collecting three hits.

RGV sends Nate Johnson to the mound to face Demetrius Banks in the third game of a four-game set. First pitch is 7:05 p.m.
