
Softball Marathon to be Held at Harbor Yard

(Bridgeport, Conn. - July 28, 2015) - The Bridgeport Bluefish have partnered up with Treasured Time, Inc. to host the second annual Extra Innings Softball Marathon, in memory of former Bluefish general manager Ken Shepard, starting on Saturday, August 1st.
"Treasured Time is so excited to be partnering with the Bridgeport Bluefish once again to put on this fundraiser," said Suzanne Major, Founder/CEO of Treasured Time. "The money we raise from this event will assist our newest families and we can't wait to have everyone come down and join us at the field for two days of fun."
The two-day event at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard begins at 7:00am on Saturday, August 1st and continues until 11:00pm that day, which includes an exciting Home Run Derby that commences at 7:30pm, and a special primetime softball game at 9:30pm, which will have the Bridgeport Bluefish staff take on the Bridgeport Sound Tigers staff in a battle for the Harbor Yard Cup. Also on Saturday night, the MARS PROJECT will be performing in the Two Roads Beer Garden from 7:30pm - 11:00pm. The fun will pick up again at 7:00am on Sunday, August 2nd and conclude at 8:00pm. Sign up is limited to the first 40 teams consisting of at least 10 players per team as each squad will play a one hour game. Out of the 20 winning teams, the team who scored the most runs will be crowned the champion and win a night in the Treasured Time Suite and food/drink included (no alcohol included) at a Bluefish Game. The Home Run Derby Champion will take home a Trophy and a pair of tickets to a New York Mets Game.
The entry fee to participate is $250 per team. Any interested Home Run Derby participants can enter for a $25 fee. All of the entry fees from the teams and individuals will go towards making a difference in granting the wishes of the families that Treasured Time helps. All proceeds raised from the Extra Inning Softball Marathon will benefit Treasured Time, whose mission is to grant the wishes of parents with life threatening illnesses to create a lasting memory with their children.
Tickets to attend the softball portion of the marathon are $5.00. Activities taking place throughout the event including corn hole, DJ's, raffles, a kids area and much more. Raffles include a chance to win a weekend rental of a convertible from BMW of Bridgeport. Concession stands will be open Saturday and Sunday all day.

"This organization is unique in its noteworthy mission of providing the gift of memories to families facing the loss of a parent to a life-threatening illness."
