(Lancaster, PA- July 28, 2015) - The Bridgeport Bluefish (13-5, 39-49) were defeated by the Lancaster Barnstormers (11-7, 39-49) 11-2 at Clipper Magazine Stadium on Tuesday night in the opener of a three game series between Second Half Division leaders. The loss snaps Bridgeport's winning streak at four consecutive games.

Bridgeport Starting Pitcher Matt Iannazzo (4-5) suffered the loss, tossing five and two-thirds innings, giving up four runs on eight hits, walking none, striking out four, hitting one batter, and allowing one home run. Lancaster Starting Pitcher Joe Gardner (4-3) picked up the win, pitching seven innings, surrendering two runs on nine hits, walking three and striking out two.

Bridgeport took the early 1-0 lead off Gardner in the top half of the second inning on an RBI single by Josh Prince, scoring Brandon Jones with the game's first run after he reached earlier in the frame with a base knock of his own. The hit for Prince extended his on-base streak to a season-high 14 games in a row. The 'Fish took a 2-0 lead in the third inning on a sacrifice fly by Jobduan Morales once again off Gardner, plating Bryant Nelson who led off with a single. Nelson is now hitting .369 in a Bluefish uniform since being acquired from the Lancaster Barnstormers right after the All-Star Break.

Lancaster would answer back off Iannazzo to tie the game at two in the bottom of the third inning on a two-run single by Zach Collier, scoring Charlie Cutler and Anderson Feliz, and just like that we had a brand new ballgame. The Barnstormers took the lead for good off Iannazzo in the sixth inning on a two-run home run by Mike McDade, and Lancaster had the 4-2 edge and never looked back. The home team put the game away for good in the eighth inning, scoring seven runs to extend the advantage to 11-2. McDade got in on the action again with a two RBI single off reliever Darren Byrd, bringing home Brian Cavazos Galvez and Kevin Rivers. The big blow was a two-out, grand slam home run by Zach Collier against Chad Povich. McDade finished the night with a home run and four runs batted in, while teammate Collier collected three hits and drove home six. Nelson led the way for Bridgeport with three hits on the evening.
