San Diego, CA ­ The San Diego Sockers, a member of the Major Indoor Soccer League announced that Ralf Wilhelms a former Sockers Coach and Director of Soccer Development has been named Executive Vice President of the San Diego Sockers.

Originally from Germany, Wilhelms has been a member of the Sockers coaching staff for the last three seasons of play and won two championship rings as a player in the late 1980¹s. In addition, Wilhelms also served as Chief Financial Officer of Let¹s Play Sports Inc. since 1998. Let¹s Play Sports Inc. owns and operates indoor soccer facilities throughout the southwest region of the United States.

³ I¹m excited about the opportunity, and I look to make some great things happen for the Sockers organization,² said Wilhelms.

Wilhelms has worked in the sports industry for more than 18 years and was a founding member of the Sports Marketing Group and Sports Press LLC. Ralf earned a masters degree in International Business from United States International University in San Diego, along with his undergraduate degree in accounting from Fachhochschule in Cologne, Germany.

The Sockers have also appointed Mark Rogondino, Director of Public Relations. The team¹s radio and television announcer has been working for the Sockers staff in the ticket sales department for the past year.

The San Diego Sockers(3-5) are currently in second place in the MISL¹s Western Division. The Sockers resume action this Sunday, when they battle the Cleveland Force at the CSU Convocation Center in Cleveland, OH. The game is set to kickoff at 12:05 PM Pacific Time, and can be heard live on ESPN Radio 800, or Worldtalkradio.com.
