
Sockers Look for First Road Win

SAN DIEGO,CA  The San Diego Sockers travel to Cleveland to battle the Cleveland Force of the MISL¹s Eastern Division in search of their first road victory of the 2003-04 season. The kickoff is set for 3:05 PM(12:05 PST) at the Convocation Center at Cleveland State University.
The game marks the second meeting of the year between the teams. The Force won the first game 3-2 in overtime on Friday, Oct. 24 at the San Diego Sports Arena.
San Diego (3-5) has won three of its last four games. Currently tied for second place in the Western Division, the Sockers are coming off a 3-2 win over the Philadelphia last Saturday at the San Diego Sports Arena.
Cleveland (3-5) is in third place in the Eastern Division, three games behind Baltimore and Philadelphia. The Force most recent action saw them fall to the Baltimore Blast 10-7 at the CSU Convocation Center. In addition, the Force is 2-1 against Western Division opponents this season.
In the lone meeting this season, Mauricio Alegre, Sean Bowers, and Mark Ughy all recorded a point for San Diego. Alegre and Bower were credited with goals, while Ughy tallied an assist. Victor Noguiera took the loss in goal for San Diego.
For Cleveland the scoring came from Ato Leone, Hector Marinaro and Adauto Neto. Neto¹s goal was the game-winner in overtime. Goalkeeper Jim Larkin earned the victory for the Force.
