Kansas City Comets News Release
The Kansas City Comets fell behind 5-0 within the first five minutes of the game, and a furious comeback effort fell just short as the team lost to the Philadelphia KiXX by a final score of 13-8 on Friday night at Kemper Arena. With the loss, the Comets dropped to 2-5 on the season.
Dino Delevski led the Comets with two goals and an assist for three points. Matt Tanzini and Jamar Beasley both scored twice for Kansas City, who outshot the KiXX 49-27 in the contest. Josh Schreck took the loss in goal with three saves; he was replaced at halftime by DJ Horvath, who also stopped three shots.
Don D'Ambra scored four goals and five points to pace the KiXX. Goran Vasic and Joel Shanker both registered hat tricks. Peter Pappas made 23 saves in the victory.
The Comets remain in second place in the MISL's Central Division, four and one-half games behind the Milwaukee Wave (7-1). St. Louis (2-7) sits in last place.
