Kansas City Comets News Release
The Comets (14-19) are currently tied for sixth place in the Major Indoor Soccer League and are three and a half games behind the Cleveland Force for the fourth and final playoff spot. The Comets have six games left during the regular season, including two at home this week.
The Comets will have a chance to make up some ground as they face the Force (17-15) on Thursday, April 7 at Kemper Arena. The game kicks off at 7:05 p.m. The game is a Family Four-Pack night. Fans can get four end-zone reserve tickets, four sodas and four hot dogs for only $40! The Comets will have a chance to tie the season series, which Cleveland currently leads 3-2.
On Saturday, April 9, the Comets welcome the two-time defending champion Baltimore Blast (14-19). The game is slated to begin at 7:35 p.m. at Kemper Arena. The Comets lead the season series 2-1. It is the teams' final meeting of the season. The first 2,500 fans to enter the gates will receive a free Comets poster, featuring Comets captain Armando Valdivia and 2004 MISL Rookie of the Year Jamar Beasley, courtesy of AMC Theatres. Join the Comets after the game for a post-game party at Spectator's at the Hyatt Regency Crown Center.

THE WEEK THAT WAS:
The Comets went 2-0 with wins over Milwaukee and Chicago.
Milwaukee Wave, 3, at Kansas City Comets, 6 (Thursday, March 31)
The Comets scored three unanswered goals to open the game, but Milwaukee fought back and tied the game in the third quarter. The Comets rallied and scored three more unanswered goals en route to the 6-3 win.
Chicago Storm, 5, at Kansas City Comets, 6 OT (Saturday, April 2)
Regulation ended in a 5-5 tie as the teams traded the lead five times. The Comets prevailed quickly after Ibrahim Kante tallied the game-winning goal at 1:25 in overtime.
PLAYOFF PICTURE:
The four teams with the best winning percentage will advance to the 2005 MISL Semifinals, which begin the weekend of April 29. As of Tuesday, April 4, the Cleveland Force (17-15) holds control of the fourth and final playoff spot. With six games remaining, the Comets are three and a half games behind the Force. With Zoran Savic as head coach, Kansas City has only missed the playoffs once: in 1994 after finishing the season 14-26.
COMETS HONORED AS PLAYERS OF THE WEEK:
Kansas City, MO (Monday, April 4) - The Major Indoor Soccer League announced today that forward Jamar Beasley and goalkeeper Chris Damico of the Kansas City Comets were named the MISL's Offensive Player of the Week and Goalkeeper of the Week, respectively, for the seven-day period ending on April 3. The Comets won two key games last week and kept their playoff hopes alive.
Beasley's offensive prowess helped the Comets to wins on Thursday and Saturday. The 25-year-old tallied five points (two goals, three assists) as the Comets defeated the first-place Milwaukee Wave 6-3 and the Chicago Storm 6-5 in overtime.
Damico played solidly in goal in both of the Comets' wins last week. On Thursday night, he saved 14 of 17 shots and kept the Wave scoreless in the first and fourth quarters as the Comets defeated the first-place Wave. He also added an assist for his third point of the season. On Saturday against Chicago, the 34-year-old turned away another 14 shots and held the Storm scoreless in the overtime period as the Comets went on to win.

Delevski is in fourth place in the Spalding Scoring Race (47 points). Andonovski is in eighth place (42 points).
Chris Damico saved a total of 28 shots last week and improved his record to 7-8.
Team Statistics:
The Comets have allowed the most goals of any team but are currently tied for second offensively.
