Sockers Fall In Cleveland, 15-10

Aaron Susi had a phenomenal night with a three-pointer, two pointer and assist, but it wasn¹t enough, as the Sockers fell victim to the Cleveland Force 15-10 at the CSU Convocation Center in Cleveland.

Cleveland attacked first and fast at :41 into the game with a goal by John Ball. Justin Evans followed with a goal at 8:38 off an assist from Anthony Maher. Kevin Sakuda scored his third goal of the season at 10:30 in the first period off an assist from Susi, bringing the first period to a close, Cleveland leading 4-2.

The Force scored just seconds into the second period when Giuliano Oliviero kicked one in off an assist from Egerton. Susi scored his second three-pointer in as many games, this time off an assist from Robbie Aristodemo at 7:24 in the second. D.J. Newsom finished the half with a goal at 12:36 with the assist given to Maher. The Force led at half 8-5.

The Sockers went on a 5-0 run in the second half. Susi scored his second goal of the night, this time on a power play opportunity at 7:50 in the third off an assist from Sockers Captain Alejandro Cardenas, bringing the Sockers within one point. Oliviero scored his second goal, tapping one in off the assist from Ball, giving the Force a 10-7 lead, their biggest lead of the second half.

Evans scored the game-winning at 9:30 with a three-pointer. Newsom added another to his total at 9:52 off an assist from Edgerton. That wrapped things up, the Force taking the win.

Jim Larkin earned the win for the Force with 14 saves. Nick Vorberg took the loss in goal with 14 saves, Aristodemo grabbed a save as the sixth attacker.

The Sockers look to rebound tomorrow with a 5 p.m. game against the Dallas Sidekicks in Dallas. After that, the Sockers return home to face the Harrisburg Heat on Feb. 6.
