Kansas City Comets News Release
KANSAS CITY, MO -- The Kansas City Comets announced today that they had agreed traded to the playing rights to Nikola Vignjevic to the Harrisburg Heat in exchange for future considerations. Vignjevic is expected to report to Harrisburg over the weekend, and be available to play next week.
The Comets acquired Vignjevic's rights in October from the Cleveland Force. He saw his first action with Kansas City on November 2, in the 22-21 KC loss in San Diego. Vignjevic started well, scoring one goal and three assists in the loss. Overall, he scored two goals and six assists for 10 points in his first four games. He has seen little playing time as of late, however, and has not played in the last four games for the Comets.
"He just wasn't producing like we thought he would," said Head Coach Zoran Savic, of Vignjevic's trade. "It just didn't work out for us".
The Kansas City Comets will return to action Sunday afternoon, as they visit Cleveland to play the Force. Game time is 2:05 PM CST, and the game can be heard live on KCKN 1340AM. The Comets return home the following weekend, to host the Dallas Sidekicks on Friday, Feb. 7, for Country & Western Night. They will host the Harrisburg Heat on Saturday, Feb. 8. Both games start at 8:05 PM. Saturday's game will feature a post-game concert by Beatles cover band Liverpool.
Single-game tickets for these and all remaining comets games are available online at ticketmaster.com, by phone at (816) 932-3330, at all Ticketmaster outlets, or at any City box office.
