
Snappers Win on Walk Off Shot by Sanchez

Beloit jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom half of the first inning for the second straight game. Tarrence Patterson led off the game with a walk. After Drew Thompson flew out to left Paul Kelly doubled to left, scoring Patterson from first base. Cedar Rapids scored their first run of the series and of the game on an errant pick off attempt by David Shinskie in the top of the sixth. Henry Sanchez smacked a two out walk off home run in the bottom of the ninth, giving Beloit a 2-1 win. Relief pitcher Yohan Pino earned his first win of the season. Beloit starter Brian Duensing pitched five scoreless innings, striking out seven, but did not factor in the decision. The Snappers pitching staff fanned 11 batters and walked just two.
Upcoming Schedule: The Snappers and Kernels will play game three of this four game series Saturday, April 8 at Pohlman Field, first pitch is set for 4:00 pm.
