Beloit Sky Carp News Release
Beloit was unable to get anyone home as the Kane County Cougars shut down the Snappers offense in a 8-0 loss at Pohlman Field. Chris Dunwell had plenty of offensive to back him up as he pitched 8 runless innings. An RBI double scored Kane County's first run and an RBI single added another. Two shots to right field scored a pair and the score was 4-0 Kane County in the second. Robby Deevers (1 for 4) lined one down the left field side for a base hit, but was stranded in the bottom of the second. The Cougars struck again this time with a 2 RBI double to ring up the score 6-0 in third. In the fifth inning, Kane County scored another on a wild pitch by Ken Durost. Beloit attempted to battle back in the sixth but William Lewis (1 for 4) and Drew Anderson (2 for 4) were left on the bags. A RBI sacrifice fly scored Kane County another in the eighth. Dunwell rung up ten strikeouts in his eight innings of work. In the bottom of the nineth Lou Palmisano (2 for 4) singled to give the Snappers a chance of scoring, but was once again left on. The final score stood 8-0 with the Beloit Snappers being stunned by Dunnwell.
