Beloit, WI – The Kane County Cougars scored in double digits for the second time in three games beating the Beloit Snappers 12 – 8 Sunday afternoon at Pohlman Field. Dustin Majewski hit the team's seventh grand slam of the year as Brian Snyder added two home runs as the Cougars hit four in the game to put Kane County 19 games over the .500 mark.

The Cougars (46 – 27) scored in their first at bat for the third straight game when Vasili Spanos singled home Brian Ingram to take a 1 – 0 lead.

The Cougars would explode for five runs in the third inning on a bases loaded walk and the team's seventh grand slam of the year. Dustin Majewski cracked his seventh tater of the year in grand fashion clearing the bases and giving the Cougars a 6 – 0 lead.

The Snappers (39-35) would finally answer getting their first hit of the game on a three run homer by Vinny Rottino to cut the lead in half. It was the first run scored by the Cougars pitching staff in 20 innings.

The Cougars got those runs back in the next inning scoring three times highlighted by a two-run dinger by Vasili Spanos to take a 9 – 3 lead. The Snappers would not go away chasing starter Trent Peterson scoring three more runs in the bottom of the fifth to cut the lead to 9 – 6.

The Cougars would add another run in the sixth when Luke Appert singled home Nick Rogers, then in the seventh inning Brian Snyder hit a solo homer to make it an 11 – 6 game.

Brigmer Leon picked up the win in relief going allowing one run on two hits in 2.2 innings of work. Brian Snyder hit another solo shot in the top of the ninth to make it a 12 – 7 game. Dan Fyvie pitched a scoreless eighth inning while Jose Corchado gave up one run in the ninth but retired the last three Snappers in order to preserve the win.

The Cougars continue the ten game road swing traveling to Peoria to face the Chiefs. Jared Trout gets the call to open the four game set in Monday's 7:00 p.m. game.
