CEDAR RAPIDS, IA - After the seventh inning on Saturday, it looked like the Beloit Snappers (30-41) would be in a position to win their second game of the series, but eight straight runs from the Cedar Rapids Kernels (40-31) gave them a 10-4 win.

The Kernels got a pair of runs on the board with a third-inning RBI single from Gabe Maciel and a home run from Michael Helman in the fifth. The Snappers rallied back to score four runs in the top of the seventh inning on a sac fly from Ricky Aracena and a three-run double by Will Banfield.

The Kernels would rise to the task and score eight straight runs off three different Beloit arms for the final two innings and cruised to a 10-4 win.

Beloit's Top Performers: Victor Victor Mesa had a two-hit effort, extending his hit streak to seven games. Banfield drove in three runs on a double. Nic Ready had a double and a run for his first game with Beloit in a month.

The Snappers are on the road in Cedar Rapids again on Sunday before moving into ABC Supply Stadium downtown beginning August 3. For more information on tickets or group outings, call our front office at 608.362.2272 or visit SnappersBaseball.com.
