Greenville, SC- James Jurries singled home Bill McCarthy with two outs in the 9th inning to lead Greenville (41-45, 5-13) to a 2-1 win over Tennessee (14-4, 49-39) Sunday afternoon at Municipal Stadium. The Braves won the series 2-1, sending the Smokies to their first series loss in the season's second half.

Tied at one heading into the 9th, the G-Braves rallied against the Tennessee bullpen. Kevin Sprague (3-3) allowed a one out single to McCarthy and intentionally walked Lee Evans with two out to get to Jason Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald beat out an infield single to load the bases and chase Sprague. Josh Kinney surrendered the game winning single to Jurries, his third hit of the game.

Greenville starter Matt Belisle (5-7) allowed only an unearned run in his complete game win. John Nelson reached on an error in the first and scored on a single by Papo Bolivar. Belisle shut down the Smokies the rest of the way and retired 17 of 19 batters between the first and seventh innings.

The Braves scored an unearned run against starter Juan Pena on a third inning double by Lee Evans, scoring Kelly Johnson.

Tennessee takes a three day break for the Southern League All-Star game, which will be played Tuesday in Jacksonville. The Smokies will send Bucky Jacobsen, Caonabo Cosme, Yadier Molina, and Mike Lyons to the contest.

The Smokies return home to host Huntsville Thursday night at Smokies Park.
