JEREMY REED â BIRMINGHAM BARONS
Birmingham Barons' outfielder Jeremy Reed was named the BC Powder Southern League Hitter of the Week. Reed hit .560 (14-for-25), drove in five runs and scored six times. The rightfielder smacked three extra-base hits including one double and three home runs. For the week, the 22-year-old had a .840 slugging percentage and a .593 on-base percentage. The Chicago White Sox selected Reed in the second round of the June 2002 draft out of Long Beach State University. He resides in La Verne, CA.

YOFU TETSU â BIRMINGHAM BARONS
Birmingham Barons' pitcher Yofu Tetsu was honored as the BC Powder Southern League Pitcher of the Week. The righthander earned a no-decision June 27 against the Jacksonville Suns pitching six innings, surrendering one run on three hits while striking out five. Tetsu picked up the win against the Huntsville Stars on July 3 pitching eight innings, surrendering no runs on three hits while striking out six. For the week, Tetsu pitched 14 innings, surrendering one earned run on six hits while striking out 11 and walking four. The Chicago White Sox signed Tetsu as a free agent in 2003. He resides in Fujisaw City, Japan.
