JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – An error on a potential double play ball led to the Tennessee Smokies' 10th inning run in a 2-1 victory over the Jacksonville Suns on Monday at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.

Suns shortstop Mike Collins was given an error when he dropped a flip from second baseman Victor Diaz. With the bases loaded and one out in the top of the 10th, Diaz bobbled a sharp ground ball by Chris Weekly which led to Yadier Molina scoring from third. Weekly was credited with an RBI on the play where no Smokies were retired. Losing pitcher Nathan Ruhl (0-1) induced a double play hit into by Papo Bolivar to end the inning.

The Suns scored their lone run in the first inning when Nick Alvarez's ground out scored Dave Detienne from third. Starter Joel Hanrahan allowed the first run to Tennessee when Jeremy Dodson grounded out to shortstop to score Bolivar in the fourth inning. Hanrahan allowed one run over six innings, struck out eight and walked none.

Juan Figueroa (1-0) earned the victory in relief with two innings of scoreless pitching. Michael Lyons retired the Suns in the 10th to earn his third save.

Right-hander Tom Farmer (0-0, 3.00) is scheduled to start the first game of a doubleheader against the Smokies at 6:05 p.m. Tuesday at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. He's scheduled to face Tennessee righty Rhett Parrott (0-1, 5.40). The Suns have yet to name a starter for Game 2. The Smokies will pitch right-hander Cheyenne Janke (0-0, 0.00).
