Smokies & Stars Square off in Crucial Five-Game Series

KODAK - Following their five-game road trip in Mobile, Alabama, the Smokies return to East Tennessee to start a five-game series against the Huntsville Stars, the Double-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday, August 12. Tennessee enters the series leading the Stars by one game in the North Division standings with 20 contests remaining in the regular season. The second-to-last homestand of the season is highlighted by a Kris Bryant Bobblehead Giveaway and Smokies jersey auction, Thirsty Thursday and Fireworks Friday.

Every dog has its day at Smokies Stadium for the series opener on Tuesday, August 12 for Tail Waggin' Tuesday, presented by Frontline Heartgard. Fans can bring along man's best friend and sit out on the berm for a fun evening of baseball. First pitch of the series opener is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. at Smokies Stadium.

Fans are encouraged to bring their appetites and empty stomachs in preparation for a feast in Kodak on Wednesday, August 13 for All-You-Can-Eat-Wednesday. For just $19.99, fans will have access to all the hot dogs, corn dogs, nachos, French fries, and Pepsi products they can handle, while tickets for kids 12 and under are available for just $17.99. Season ticket and mini plan holders can also upgrade their seats for the All-You-Can-Eat package for just $13 dollars.

In addition, individual tickets for Smokies Stadium's new signature staple, Calhoun's At The Yard, are still available for Wednesday evening's contest. Included in the ticket package is the full fan experience of the unique area, including a game ticket, all-you-can-eat buffet provided by Calhoun's and a free Smokies cap. Adult ticket packages are available for only $32 dollars, while kids 12 and under are only $27 dollars. Start time for Wednesday evening is set for 7:15 p.m.

After all that food, fans can quench their thirst the next night on Thursday, August 14 for Coor's Light Thirsty Thursday. Drink specials will be available at the ballpark, including domestic draft beers and small Pepsi products available for only one dollar. First pitch for the middle game of the five-game set is slated for 7:15 p.m.

Game four of the series on Friday, August 15 is sure to be a blast with Friday Night Fireworks, presented by Coor's Light, Pepsi, the Knoxville News Sentinel, WVLT and WIVK. What better way to begin the weekend than watch the skies ignite with the best fireworks show in town following the conclusion of Friday night's contest?

In addition, it's Mother-Son Date Night, with a special ticket package that includes two game tickets, two meal vouchers, one Mom Smokies T-shirt, two Smokies baseball caps, one Smokies logo baseball, one 2014 Team Player Card Set, one foam finger, a pair of Smokies earrings, a Tennessee Smokies chapstick and field access for post-game fireworks for just $59 dollars.

Every Friday evening home game is sponsored by Remote Area Medical, and game time is scheduled for 7:15 p.m.

After staying late, fans will want to arrive early on Saturday, August 16, as the first 1,500 fans through the gates will receive a Kris Bryant Bobblehead thanks to Vanderbilt Mortgage Finance, Tindell's Building Materials, WBIR and Q100. A bobblehead likeness of the former Smokies, slugger, top Cubs prospect and fan favorite will be given out before the contest, while a special post-game concert will also take place just outside the gates.

The Smokies will also be wearing special throwback jerseys in the style of the Chicago Cubs' 1977 jerseys, which will be auctioned and raffled off during the contest to benefit Remote Area Medical. Don't miss your chance to purchase your favorite player's jersey! First pitch for the series finale is set for 6:15 p.m.
