Atlantic City Surf News Release


The Bridgeport Bluefish defeated the Atlantic City Surf 8-6 before 4701 at the Sandcastle Friday night. The Bluefish benefitted from four Surf errors to score four unearned runs and hand Surf starter Anthony Chavez his first loss of the season.

The Bridgeport win left the Bluefish in a tie for first place with Long Island in the North Division. Atlantic City is 29-11 and five games in front of the Camden Rivershalrs in the race for the second half championship in the South Division.

Tony Rodriquez had a four-RBI night for the Bluefish, winners of the first half in the North Division. Pito Ramirez hit a home run for Atlantic City in a losing cause. The Surf played without Pete Incaviglia who sat out the second game of a two-game suspension for arguing with Atlantic League umpire David Mills. Incaviglia will be back in the lineup when the two teams play Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. Brian Williams goes for the Surf against Alan Mahaffey.
