
Slaughter Added to Practice Roster

The Calgary Stampeders have added international receiver and kick returner Nathan Slaughter to the practice roster.
Slaughter originally signed with the Stampeders on June 9 and appeared in both of Calgary's pre-season games, recording two catches for 13 yards while returning two kickoffs for 34 yards and two punts for 20 yards.
The 22-year-old Lubbock, Tex., native recorded the fastest time at the National Football League's veteran combine in 2015 and earned a contract with the Arizona Cardinals. He has also spent time with the Houston Texans and Jacksonville Jaguars.
Slaughter played his college football at West Texas A&M and appeared in 47 games including 43 starts over four years (2010-13). For his career, he had 183 career receptions for 2,079 yards and 14 touchdowns as well as 48 kickoff returns for 1,395 yards and three majors. Slaughter started 11 games as a senior and caught 50 passes for 516 yards and three touchdowns. He also returned 23 kickoffs for 830 yards and three touchdowns.
The Stampeders have also released national defensive lineman Shomari Williams and international receiver Sederrik Cunningham.
