
Slappy Heads to Celery Flats

Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud member of the International Hockey League, announce that the KC Auto Land K-Wings Uplander along with Kalamazoo's favorite mascot, Slappy will visit Celery Flats this Saturday, September 20th.
Slappy will be at Celery Flats greeting walkers for the Portage Community Center's Peacock Strut from 8-9 a.m.
The event is a major fundraiser for PCC, which provides emergency assistance in the form of funding, food and clothing along with a variety of youth programs, such as at-risk services.
The Peacock Strut is designed to be both a competitive race and a fun time. Events include the 10K run at 8 a.m., Kids Fitness Caper (a one-mile fun walk/run) at 8:15 a.m., 5K run at 9:15 a.m. and 5K walk at 9:20 a.m. Wheelchair entrants are encouraged and welcome, and will start five minutes before the official start of the 5K and 10K runs.
