San Angelo Colts News Release
San Angelo, Texas---The Colts continue to roll as they hand the McAllen Thunder their ninth straight loss at Foster Field 20-9. The Colts have now won five in a row. Colts second baseman Danny Hernandez's has now reached base safely in 17 straight games.
The Colts continue to strike first and fast as they put four runs across home plate in the bottom of the first inning. Colts would add four more in the second and two more in the third to jump out to the early ten nothing lead. In the fourth, Andrew Riddick (3) and Cory "General" Patton (12) sent out back to back jacks to extend the lead to 13 runs. The Thunder would battle back to cut the deficit to four by the bottom of the seventh as the score was 13-9. With the bases loaded and two out in the bottom of the seventh inning, Landon Camp (8) was at the plate with a full count. The next pitch he saw was a fastball right down the middle that he launched for a long ride over the left field wall for a grand slam to put the Colts back up by ten 19-9. Catcher Trey Carter (6) would send one out in the eight to lock up the eleven run victory for the Colts.
Tomorrow, the Colts look to sweep the Thunder for the second consecutive time this season. Game four of the four game set will include a pre-game youth clinc, FREE to the public sponsored by Wal-Mart starting at 4:00 pm. Everyone attending the clinic will receive a free water bottle. First pitch is at 6:05 on 101.9 the fire.
