San Angelo Colts News Release
San Angelo, Texas---The Colts Sweep the Thunder for the second time this season and have now won ten straight against McAllen with a 13-5 route. Danny Hernandez extended his streak for reaching base safely to 18 games. Logan Williamson (7-0, 4.29) gets his league leading seventh win.
Mark Ramos started things off early for the Colts as he sends out his fifth long ball of the year in the bottom of the first. The league's RBI leader Daryl Jones (50) also reached home in the bottom of the first off a sacrifice fly by Colts first baseman Clay Calfee. Ramos would come back to the plate in the bottom of the second and deliver a two out triple that would score two of the Colts three run second. Ramos would record two more singles on the night, leaving him a double shy of the cycle. Jones also delivered, this time a three run blast in the bottom of the sixth to extend the Colts lead to 9-0.
Logan Williamson (7-0, 4.29) would stay perfect on the season, as he went 6.1 innings allowing 6 runs on 8 hits and striking out 5. Thunder righty Alien Mora (0-1, 12.00) would receive his first loss on the season.
The Colts will enjoy two days off before hitting the road back to Harlingen to face off against the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings for a four game series. The Colts will return home on Saturday, July 16 to face the Edinburg Roadrunners. Saturday night, the first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a free mousepad courtesy of Drennan Real Estate.
