The Greys scored a run in the 3rd inning off new Joliet pitcher Ethan Carter. Chris Ellison made it 1-0 with an RBI single. Joe Rapp's home run in the 5th made it 2-0. Carter came to the Slammers from River City where he was given his release on July 29th. Before the game, Joliet also announced they had released outfielder Jose Garcia and pitcher Brett Zawacki. The Greys lead became 4-0 thanks to a 2-run homer from Steve Rogers later in the 5th inning.
