Sussex Skyhawks News Release
After a devastating loss yesterday, the Skyhawks came to play, posting a quick 6 hits and 3 runs after 3 innings of play.
In the 4th, BJ Richman got things started by drawing a walk and advancing to 2nd on a stolen base. Scott Grimes did not waste any time as he launched one over the scoreboard for a 2-run dinger.
The County Cutters pitchers continued to struggle as reliever Tom Rispoli was plagued by the Skyhawks' quick bats and runners advancing on wild pitches. Two runs crossed the plate, as the Skyhawks were patient in the box.
Davis left the game with an impressive 6 1/3 innings pitched with 2 runs scored, 4 hits, 4 strike outs and 2 walks. Bart Braun Jr. and Brian Ford took over and held the Cutters to 3 runs and 8 hits. The Skyhawks hand Joslin Ramirez his first loss and Vince Davis takes the win making him 1-1.
