
Skyhawks blank Pride, 2-0

(Nashua, NH, June 20, 2006) - Sussex right hander Lincoln Mincks earned his first victory of the season scattering eight Nashua hits over eight innings in a 2-0 victory Tuesday night before 1,207 at Historic Holman Stadium. Mincks (1-1) did not walk a batter and struck out one Nashua batter before giving way to Julio Perez who worked the ninth inning and posted his fourth save of the season.
The Skyhawks (16-9) scored their first run in the fourth inning when Ryan Lehr scored on a double play grounder off the bat of Rich Daley. In the sixth, Lehr's ground out scored Bobby LeNoir who walked and advanced to third on a Josh Ury double.
Pride lefty Vincent Davis (2-2) suffered the loss. Davis, allowed just three hits and one earned run over six and two-thirds innings.
Tom Creighton, Billy Becher and Steve Baker had two hits apiece for Nashua (10-13).
The three-game series resumes Tuesday night at 7:05. 0-1 Josh Thigpen is scheduled to start for Nashua. Sussex will counter with 3-0 Kevin Olsen in a battle of right-handers.
