(Nashua, NH, June 20, 2006) - Nashua Pride team officials announced today that Elliot Shea, a Conant High and Franklin Pierce graduate, has signed a contract for the season.

Shea was one of two seniors drafted out of Franklin Pierce on the second day of the draft. He was selected in the 45th round by the Chicago Cubs. The Jaffrey native was a three time All-Northeast 10 Selection and a First Team All-Northeast Pick. Shea hit .335 for the Ravens with 53 runs scored, 20 doubles, 5 triples, 6 home runs, and 47 RBI. He also holds a single season school record of 29 stolen bases. Shea became the Ravens career hit leader with a solo home run in the NCAA Division II Northeast Regional closing out his career with 248 hits.

Shea holds multiple records at Franklin Pierce College. He stands number one in games played (204) and stolen bases (70). He also ranks among career leaders with 155 runs scored (third), 44 doubles (second), 111 RBI (sixth), and 60 walks (eighth). The Jaffrey native was also one of three first-time selections to earn ESPN the Magazine District I Academic All-America honors this spring from Franklin Pierce, and he was also selected as Franklin Pierce's Richard Burns Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
