Sioux Falls Skyforce News Release

Sioux Falls, SD - The Sioux Falls Skyforce overcame a late run by Raptors 905 (5-17) to earn a 102-101 victory at the Sanford Pentagon on Tuesday night and improved to 17-3, extending the best start to a season in NBA Development League history.

Sioux Falls has now won 10 consecutive games, the longest in the NBA D-League this season and their eight-game home winning streak is the longest for the Skyforce since the 2005-2006 season.

Tre Kelley (20 points, six assists) and Keith Benson (24 points, six rebounds) led the way offensively for the Skyforce. Kelley has now scored in double figures in 19 of the teams 20 games this season. With two blocks in the game, Benson has now recorded a block in 13 consecutive games and has at least one block in 17 out of the 19 games he's played in this season.

Every Skyforce player contributed to the scoring column tonight and Sioux Falls shot a season-high 93.3 percent (28-of-30) from the free throw line. Raptors 905 was also efficient from the charity stripe, converting 28-of-30 (91.7 percent) free throw attempts.

Ronald Roberts Jr. (26 points, nine rebounds) and Shannon Scott (17 points) led a second half comeback for Raptors 905 that saw the Skyforce lead cut to just one point with 5.2 seconds remaining in regulation, but a missed shot by Scott Suggs (19 points, eight rebounds) at the buzzer allowed Sioux Falls to escape with the win. Roberts Jr. has now either led or shared the team lead in rebounds in every game he has played this season.

Axel Toupane (15 points, six rebounds, seven assists) and Melvin Johnson III (12 points) also scored in double figures for Raptors 905 in the loss.

Sioux Falls held Raptors 905 to just 42 percent shooting from the field and has now held teams under 50 percent shooting in all 20 games so far this season. However, Raptors 905 shot 60 percent (nine-of-15) from three-point range, which allowed them to stay in the game.

Starters Rodney McGruder (18 points, six rebounds) and Bubu Palo (11 points, eight assists, eight rebounds) also scored in double figures while Jabril Trawick contributed 15 points off of the bench.

The Skyforce will look to extend their winning streak as they travel to Des Moines, Iowa on Thursday to take on the Iowa Energy (10-10). Raptors 905 will be on the road as well as they travel to Delaware (12-11) to take on the 87ers on Friday.
