Sioux Falls, SD - The Sioux Falls Skyforce (20-16, 135.5, 3.8) hosts the Rockford Lightning (25-12, 157.5, 4.3) tonight at 7:05 pm at the Sioux Falls Arena.

Homecourt Dominance

With the nailbiting win last night against the Rockford Lighting, the ‘Force remained undefeated at home against Eastern Conference foes as they are now 4-0. They also improved to 14-3 (.823) at home which is the second best winning percentage at home in the CBA this season. Only the Lightning has a higher winning percentage at home as they are 15-3 (.833) at the Rockford MetroCentre. The Yakama Sun Kings put all three home losses on the ‘Force and the Lightning lost their three home games to the Gary Steelheads (twice) and Yakama Sun Kings (once).

Carlisle Burns Old Team

A big reason for the win last night was the hot shooting of Geno Carlisle as he finished with a team-high 22 points as he was 7-for-12 from the field including 5-for-7 from downtown. He has definitely shined since joining the ‘Force in a trade with the Yakama Sun Kings as he is averaging 17.8 ppg in eight games in a Skyforce uniform (he is averaging 11.4 ppg overall in 27 games with the Sun Kings-Skyforce). Carlisle actually began his CBA career with the Rockford Lightning as they drafted him in the tenth round (83rd pick overall) of the 1999 CBA Draft. He played his rookie season with Rockford and averaged 10.6 ppg and 2.5 apg in 56 games (1 start).

On the current Rockford Lightning roster there are actually three players that are related to each other somehow. According to Rico Hills' bio on the Lightning website, he is the brother of forward Sidney Holmes and cousin to guard Cordell Henry.
