Seven Lightning players scored in double figures as the Lightning fell to the Sioux
Falls Skyforce 119-120 on Friday night.
Marlon Parmer led the Lightning with 23 points, and 8 assists in the loss. After
trailing 56-74 at the half, the Lightning fought their way back to take the lead in
the final minute. Ronnie Fields missed a turnaround fadeaway jumper at the buzzer
and the Lightning lost for the fourth time in the last five games.
Sidney Holmes finished with 16 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists while Roger Powell
added 18 points, and 7 rebounds for Rockford. Ronnie Fields picked up 16 points, 8
rebounds, and 3 steals while John Jackson added 18 points off the bench.
In the last five games, the Lightning have shot a total of 144 free throws (28.8 pg)
compared to 225 (45.5 pg) from their opponents. Rockford has lost 4 of those 5
games, and have been called for an average of 33.2 fouls a game compared to just
26.0 fouls called on their opponents.
Head Coach Chris Daleo and the Lightning will look to rebound tonight as they take
on the Sioux Falls Skyforce in a rematch of last night's contest at the Sioux Falls
Arena. Tip-off for Saturday nights game is set for 7:05 P.M. (CST), and Lightning
