
Skyforce Acquires Bobby Jones

Sioux Falls, S.D. (Feb. 9, 2008) - The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today the acquisition of forward Bobby Jones. He is expected to arrive in Sioux Falls on Monday and will make his debut at home against the Central Division-leading Dakota Wizards on Thursday, Feb. 14.
The 6-7, 215-pound forward has appeared in 76 games over the last two seasons with the Philadelphia 76ers, Denver Nuggets and Memphis Grizzles averaging 3.0 points and 1.5 rebounds. In only his fourth game with Memphis this season, Jones made his first start on Jan. 18 and posted career highs in points (20), rebounds (13), assists (7), steals (3) and minutes played (40).
Originally selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round (37th overall) of the 2006 NBA Draft, Jones was acquired by the 76ers in a draft night trade in exchange for a 2007 second round draft pick and cash considerations. The Compton, California native was assigned to the Fort Worth Flyers of the NBA Development League at the beginning of his rookie season and averaged 13.7 points and 8.0 rebounds in three games.
The four-year letterman at the University of Washington was the co-winner of the John Meyers Defensive Player Award at the team's postseason banquet along with teammate and 2006-07 NBA Rookie of the Year Brandon Roy as a senior in 2005-06.
