Syracuse Mets News Release
Syracuse, NY- The Syracuse SkyChiefs announced today that the Toronto Blue Jays have signed Free-Agent Catcher Gregg Zaun and assigned him to Syracuse. Zaun was released by the Montreal Expos after spending Spring Training with them as a non-roster invitee.
Zaun has appeared in 579 Major League Games over 9 seasons. He holds a .246 career batting average and has hit 33 Home Runs in the Majors. Last season he appeared in 59 games with the Houston Astros and 15 with the Colorado Rockies. Zaun was a member of the 1997 World Champion Florida Marlins and has also played in the Major Leagues for Baltimore, Texas and Kansas City.
