COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Brandon Hynick retired all 21 batters he faced in throwing a seven-inning perfect game for the Colorado Springs Sky Sox in a 2-0 win over the Portland Beavers Tuesday night at Security Service Field.

Hynick (7-5), who also threw a seven-inning, five-hit shutout against the Beavers at PGE Park in the second game of a doubleheader May 6, threw just the ninth perfect game in the 107-year history of the Pacific Coast League. It was the first no-hitter for the Sky Sox (46-32) since Franklin Morales, Chris George, Matt Daley and Steven Register combined for one against Albuquerque on May 11, 2008.

Hynick struck out six batters on his way to history, becoming the first PCL pitcher since Manny Parra accomplished the historic feat in nine innings while pitching for Nashville against Round Rock on June 25, 2007.

Hynick finished the game by getting a diving play from second baseman Eric Young, Jr. and then inducing a flyout to right by Craig Stansberry.

Sky Sox shortstop Jonathan Herrera scored the first run on a sac fly in the third before drawing a bases-loaded walk in the sixth to drive in the second.

For the Beavers (37-42), starter Wade LeBlanc (1-5) pitched five solid innings, holding the Sky Sox to a run on four hits and a walk while striking out five.

The Sky Sox scored their first run in the third inning when Herrera led off with a single and came around to score on a sacrifice fly from Mike McCoy.

Colorado Springs tacked on an insurance run in the sixth when Herrera drew a bases-loaded walk from reliever John Hudgins.

The Beavers and Sky Sox also completed the final 4 ½ innings of Monday's suspended game earlier in the day Tuesday, with the Beavers winning, 10-8.

The Beavers head to Tacoma to begin a three-game series Wednesday night at 7 p.m. (Pacific)
